Middos (character traits) are a remarkable combination of dayos (outlook) and kochos (innate strengths). Since middos are also a outlook it is possible to change them using our intellect. Terrible mistake to place emphasis on refining the middos that we excel in. Our knee jerk response has an automatic set pattern. Mistaken initial response compounded by history of images in the brain and heart adds up to create our bad middos. Need to study our middos by thinking who we are and how we react.
